A long, wide beach accessible by car in two ways. On the one hand, you can turn left at the 289.5 km marker on the road N-340 towards the Aparthotel Marinas de Nerja. This route is short and there is no need to leave the town. On the other hand, you can go down the street Calle Antonio Ferrándiz and once you have gone past the high school 'I.E.S. El Chaparil', which was the ancient factory San José, you must turn right in a path that, after crossing the river Río Chíllar, leads into the beach El Playazo. The most appealing feature of this beach is the surroundings; a rich, fertile plain known as the Vega de Nerja. Moreover, two rivers flow into this beach, the Chíllar in the east and the Seco in the west.
